California Proposition 65 Notice

What Is Proposition 65?
California’s Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 — commonly known as Proposition 65 — requires businesses to provide warnings before knowingly exposing Californians to chemicals listed by the State as known to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. The list currently includes over 900 chemicals.
Why Does This Apply to Flat Web Slings?
Polyester flat web slings and associated hardware (hooks, rings, shackles, buckles) may contain trace amounts of listed chemicals — including lead in metal components such as end fittings, master links, and hardware used in manufacturing. These chemicals are common in industrial lifting and rigging hardware and meet all applicable federal and industry safety standards. The Proposition 65 warning is required for California shipments regardless of the trace level.
Who Does This Apply To?
This warning applies to orders shipped to addresses in the State of California. If you are purchasing from or shipping to California, this notice is required by law. Customers in all other states are not subject to this requirement, though the same products are sold nationwide.
Does This Mean the Product Is Unsafe?
No. Proposition 65 warnings are precautionary notices required under California law. Our slings meet all applicable federal OSHA, ASME B30.9, and industry safety standards. The presence of a Proposition 65 warning does not mean that a product is defective, unsafe, or in violation of any safety standard.
